அமெரிக்கத் தீர்மானத்தின் 4ம் சரத்து ஆபத்தானது – பிரதீபா மஹானாமஹேவா

அமெரிக்காவினால் சமர்ப்பிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள தீர்மானத்தின் 4ம் சரத்து ஆபத்தானது என மனித உரிமை ஆணைக்குழுவின் தலைவர் பிரதீபா மஹானாமாஹேவா தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் மனித உரிமைப் பேரவை மாநாட்டில் அமெரிக்கா இலங்கை தொடர்பில் தீர்மானமொன்றை முன்வைத்துள்ளது.

இந்தத் தீர்மானத்தின் நான்காம் காரணி நாட்டுக்கு ஆபத்தை ஏற்படுத்தக் கூடிய வகையில் அமைந்துள்ளது.

குறிப்பாக நாட்டின் சுயாதீனத்தன்மைக்கு ஆபத்தை ஏற்படுத்தக் கூடிய வகையில் அமைந்துள்ளது.

ஏதேனும் ஓர் காரணத்தினால் இந்தத் தீர்மானம் மாநாட்டில் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டால், நாட்டுக்கு பாதிப்பு ஏற்படக் கூடும்.

நாட்டில் ஏற்படக் கூடிய குழப்ப நிலைமைகளின் போது அரசாங்கத்தின் அனுமதியின்றி குழுவொன்றை அனுப்பி விசாரணை நடாத்தக் கூடிய வகையில் தீர்மானத்தின் நான்காம் காரணி அமைந்துள்ளது என மஹானாமஹேவா தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

சிங்கள பத்திரிகை ஒன்றுக்கு அளித்த நேர் காணலில் அவர் இதனைக் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.

Sri Lanka accused the US of violating the laws of natural justice in regard to the proceedings at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) sessions in Geneva.

Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL), Commissioner, Dr. Prathiba Mahanamahewa, accused the US, which has drafted a resolution against Sri Lanka, of trying to be the judge of their own cause, by not backing down and letting the other nations vote on the resolution. “They are violating the laws of natural justice in this very biased situation,” he said. Any person has a democratic right for expressing himself, but this is not an unlimited, unrestricted right, unlike the right to life and the right to exemption from torture. All other rights are restricted to a certain degree by international laws, a country’s economy and security.” He questioned the urgency for such protests in the country, especially at such a crucial time for Sri Lanka. “Efforts are being made to tarnish the country’s reputation in Geneva.
