இலங்கை விவகாரம்! தமிழகத்தில் மாணவர்களின் போராட்டம் வலுக்கிறது!

இலங்கை விவகாரம் தொடர்பில் சென்னையில் லயோலா கல்லூரி மாணவர்கள் நடத்திய போராட்டம் தற்போது தமிழகத்தின் ஏனைய மாவட்டங்களுக்கும் பரவி இருப்பதாக தெரிவிக்கப்படுகிறது.

போராட்டம் நடத்திய மாணவர்களை காவற்துறையினர் கைது செய்து பலவந்தமாக வைத்தியசாலையில் அனுமதித்துள்ளனர்.

இந்த நிலையில் இதற்கு எதிர்ப்பு தெரிவித்து சென்னை சட்ட கல்லூரி மாணவர்கள் ஆர்ப்பாட்டம் நடத்தியுள்ளனர்.

கைதான லொயோலா கல்லூரியின் மாணவர்களை உடனடியாக விடுவிக்குமாறு வலியுறுத்தி இந்த ஆர்ப்பாட்டம் முன்னெடுக்கப்பட்டது.

அத்துடன் விடுதலைப் புலிகள் மீது இந்தியாவில் ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ள தடையையும் நீக்குமாறு கோரப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இதற்கிடையில் ராமநாதம்புரம் மாவட்டத்திலும் கல்லூரி மாணவர்கள் இலங்கை விடயத்தை முன்வைத்து ஆர்ப்பாட்டம் நடத்தியதாக தெரிவிக்கப்படுகிறது.

2ம் இணைப்பு

சென்னையை தொடர்ந்து மாணவர் போரட்டம் தமிழகம் முழுவதும் பரவியது. நெல்லை சட்டக்கல்லூரி மாணவர் 12 பேர் நேற்று காலவரையற்ற உண்ணாவிரதம் தொடங்கினர்.

இதேபோல் நெல்லை மனோன்மணியம் சுந்தரனார் பல்கலையின் உளவியல், தொடர்பியல், பொருளாதாரம், வரலாறு ஆகிய துறைகளைச் சேர்ந்த மாணவர்கள் 12 பேர் பல்கலை. வளாகம் முன் உண்ணாவிரதம் தொடங்கினர்.

பாளையங்கோட்டை சேவியர் கல்லூரியில் 200க்கும் மேற்பட்ட மாணவர்கள் நேற்று காலை முதல் மாலை வரை உண்ணாவிரதம் இருந்தனர்.

மதுரை: மதுரை சட்டக்கல்லூரி மாணவர்கள் மண்டல வணிகவரித்துறை அலுவலக வளாகத்தின் முதல் மாடியில் உள்ள தேசியமயமாக்கப்பட்ட வங்கி முன் ஆர்ப்பாட்டத்தில் ஈடுபட்டனர்.

அப்போது மாணவர்களில் சிலர் வங்கிக்குள் சென்று ஆர்ப்பாட்டம் செய்தனர். அப்போது வங்கியின் கதவுகளை இழுத்து மூடி வங்கி ஊழியர்களை சிறைவைத்தனர்.

சுமார் ஒரு மணி நேரத்திற் கும் மேலாக இந்த போராட்டம் நடந்ததால் வங்கிக்குள் இருந்த பொதுமக்களும், வங்கி ஊழியர்களும் வெளியே செல்லமுடியாத நிலை ஏற்பட்டது.

தகவல் அறிந்த பொலிஸ் துணை கமிஷனர் திருநாவுக்கரசு மற்றும் மாவட்ட வழக்கறிஞர் சங்க செயலா ளர் ராமசாமி ஆகியோர் மாணவர்களிடம் பேச்சு நடத்தினர். இதன்பேரில் போராட்டத்தை விலக்கிக் கொண்டு, ஊர்வலமாக வந்து மாவட்ட நீதிமன்றம் முன் ஆர்ப்பாட்டம் நடத்தினர்.

கோவை அரசு கலைக்கல்லூரி மாணவர்கள் நேற்று மதியம் 12 மணி அளவில் வகுப்புகளை புறக்கணித்து கல்லூரி நுழைவாயில் முன் அமர்ந்து உண்ணாவிரதம் இருந்தனர். 6 மாணவர்கள் தொடர் உண்ணாவிரதத்தை தொடக்கினர்.

கோவை சட்டக்கல்லூரி மாணவர்களும் நேற்று வகுப்புகளை புறக்கணித்தனர். பின்னர் இரண்டாம் ஆண்டு, இறுதியாண்டை சேர்ந்த 20 மாணவர்கள் நேற்று மாலை மதிமுக அலுவலகத்திற்கு வந்தனர். பின்னர் அலுவலகம் முன் காலவரையற்ற உண்ணாவிரதம் இருந்தனர்.

தமிழகம், புதுவையிலும் பல கல்லூரிகளைச் சேர்ந்த மாணவர்கள் உண்ணாவிரதம், மறியல், ஊர்வலம் என்று போராட்டங்களை நடத்தினர்.

Student protests gain momentum across Tamil Nadu

Student protests demanding justice for war crimes in Sri Lanka gathered momentum across Tamil Nadu, with class boycotts, fasts and demonstrations being reported from various cities and towns.

The protests intensified after eight students of Loyola College in TN, who were on an indefinite fast since Friday, were taken into police custody in the early hours. Students in about 25 colleges in the State abstained from classes, accusing Sri Lanka of targeting innocent Tamils during the war against the LTTE. There were reports of relay fasts in at least 14 places. Demonstrations or processions were held to demand that India vote against Sri Lanka in the ongoing UN Human Rights Council session in Geneva. Some students belonging to government arts and law colleges burnt effigies of Sri Lankan leaders. Police said they had scaled up security arrangements for Sri Lankan establishments in Chennai. In Chennai, students said the arrest of their fasting friends was totally unanticipated as it was a non-violent protest, but the police maintained that they had to step in because the fast was creating law and order problems. Nearly 40 of their supporters were taken to a community hall in Arumbakkam and held there till Monday morning. Students from several city colleges thronged Royapettah Hospital, where protesters whose fast was aborted were administered glucose. By 5 p.m. on Monday, the students were discharged from the hospital. “We have decided to end our protest because it has created enough awareness among other students. Now, we will look for other ways to protest against the injustice by the Sri Lankan government,” said a protester. Groups of students also protested in Presidency College, while 15 students of Ambedkar Government Arts College started a fast on Monday evening with 200 supporters. Students from St. Joseph’s College, Tiruchi, St. Xavier’s College, Palayamkottai, Government Law College, Tirunelveli, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli, Government Arts College, Coimbatore and two youths in Tirupur began indefinite fasts.
