இலங்கையின் கொலைக்களம் என்ற பெயரில் இரண்டு ஆவணப் படங்களைத் தயாரித்துள்ள இயக்குனர் கேலம் மெக்கரே தற்போது 'நோ பயர் சோன்' என்ற பெயரில் 90 நிமிடங்கள் ஓடக்கூடிய ஒரு திரைப்படத்தை தயாரித்துள்ளார். இந்தப் படம் அடுத்த மாதம் ஜெனீவாவில் நடக்கவுள்ள ஐநா மனித உரிமைகள் கவுன்சில் கூட்டத்தில் திரையிடப்படவுள்ளது. இலங்கைப் போரின் இறுதிக் கட்டத்தில் போர்க் குற்றங்கள் இடம்பெற்றதாக பரவலாக குற்றச்சாட்டுக்கள் இருந்தாலும், சனல் 4 தொலைக்காட்சி அது குறித்து வெளியிட்ட காட்சிகள் தான் இலங்கை அரசை கடுமையான சங்கடத்தில் ஆழ்த்தின. போரின்போது 'தாக்குதல்கள் நடத்தப்படக் கூடாத பகுதிகள்' என்று அறிவிக்கப்பட்ட பகுதிகள் மீது பல தாக்குதல்கள் நடத்தப்பட்டு அங்கிருந்த ஆயிரக்கணக்கான மக்கள் கொல்லப்பட்டதை நினைவுபடுத்தும் வகையிலேயே படத்துக்கு No Fire Zone என்று பெயர் சூட்டப்பட்டுள்ளது. போர்க் குற்றம் குறித்த பல புதிய காட்சிகள், புதிய செவ்விகள் மற்றும் போரின் பின்னணி குறித்த கூடுதல் விபரங்கள் இப்படத்தில் இருக்கும் என்கிறார் இயக்குனர் கேலம் மெக்கரே. சனல் 4, புலிட்சர் மையம் உள்ளிட்ட அமைப்புக்களின் நிதி உதிவியுடன் தயாரிக்கப்பட்ட இப்படத்தின் முக்கிய காட்சிகள் இந்திய நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர்கள் மற்றும் கொள்கை வகுப்பாளர்களுக்கு வரும் வாரம் டில்லியில் காண்பிக்கப்படவுள்ளது. இலங்கையில் நடைபெற்ற போர்க் குற்றங்கள் தொடர்பான ஓர் உறுதியான ஆவணமாக இந்தப் படம் இருக்கும். போர்க் குற்றம் குறித்த நடவடிக்கைகளை எடுக்க இது தூண்டும் என்று நாங்கள் நம்புகிறோம். அங்கே நடைபெற்ற போர்க் குற்றங்கள் குறித்த புதிய ஆதாரங்கள் இதில் சேர்க்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. அங்கே என்ன நடந்தது என்பது குறித்த புரிதலை ஏற்படுத்த இது உதவும்" என்றார் கேலம் மெக்கரே. சுயாதீன சர்வதேச விசாரணை வேண்டும் என்பது குறித்தும் இலங்கையில் நடைபெறத் திட்டமிடப்பட்டுள்ள பொதுநலவாய நாடுகளின் தலைவர்கள் கூட்டம் குறித்தும் சர்வதேச மட்டத்திலான அழுத்தங்களை உருவாக்கவும் இந்தத் திரைப்படம் வழிகோலும் என்று நம்புவதாகவும் அவர் தெரிவித்தார். கோரமான காட்சிகள் ஆண்டின் பிற்பகுதியில் பொது மக்கள் பார்க்கும் வகையில் படம் திரைக்கு வரும். போர்க் குற்றம் தொடர்பான ஆவணப் படங்களில் ஆட்கள் கொல்லப்படும் காட்சிகளுடன் நிர்வாணப்படுத்தப்பட்ட நிலையில் இருக்கும் ஏராளமான பெண்களின் உடல்களும் காட்டப்பட்டன. திரைப்படமாக இந்த விடயத்தை எடுத்தபோது மக்களின் கலைச்சார ரசனைகள் குறித்து தாம் கருத்தில் கொண்டதாக குறிப்பிட்ட கெல்லம் மெக்கரே, சில காட்சிகளை மங்கலாகவும் மறைத்தும் காட்டியுள்ளோம் என்றார். ஆனால் மிக அதிக அளவில் மனித குலத்துக்கு எதிராக நடைபெற்ற குற்றங்களை, போர் குற்றங்களை, மக்கள் சந்தித்த மிகக் கொடுமையான துயரங்களை பற்றிப் படமெடுப்பதாகவும், ஆகவே ஒரு அளவுக்கு மேல் காட்சிகளை சுத்திகரிக்கவோ அல்லது கத்தரிக்கவோ முடியாது என்றும் அவர் கூறினார். போர்க் குற்றம் தொடர்பாக வந்த சர்வதேச அழுத்தங்களை சமாளிப்பதற்காக இலங்கை அரசு படிப்பினைகள் ஆணைக்குழுவை நியமித்தது. ஆனால் போர்க் குற்றம் தொடர்பாக இதுவரை யாரும் தண்டிக்கப்படவில்லை. போர் குற்றச்சாட்டுக்களை எதிர்கொள்ளும் இராணுவ உயர் அதிகாரிகளுக்கு பதவி உயர்வு அளிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.சிலருக்கு இராஜாங்கப் பதவிகளும் வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. இலங்கை அரசின் மீதும் சர்வதேச சமூகத்தின் மீதும் பல விமர்சனங்களை முன்வைத்த இலங்கையின் கொலைக்கள ஆவணத் தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் விடுதலைப் புலிகள் செய்த குற்றங்களை அழுத்தமாக பதிவு செய்யவில்லை என்ற விமர்சனம் சிலரால் முன்வைக்கப்படுகிறது. விடுதலைப் புலிகள் நடத்திய இரண்டு தற்கொலைத் தாக்குதல்களை இந்தப் படத்தில் காட்டியுள்ளதாகத் தெரிவித்த இயக்குனர் கேலம் மெக்கரே, "விடுதலைப் புலிகள் மோசமான பல காரியங்களை செய்தார்கள் என்பதற்காக, தாம் அதை விட மோசமான காரியங்களை செய்யலாம் என்று சர்வதேச சட்டங்களின படி நடப்பதாக உறுதியளித்துள்ள ஒரு அரசு சொல்லுமேயானால் அது மிகவும் வியப்பான ஒன்று" என்றார். இலங்கை அரசு கடந்த காலங்களில் தொடர்ந்து தமக்கு பதிலளிக்காத நிலையில், இந்தப் படத்திற்காக அரசின் கருத்துக்கள் கேட்கப்படவில்லை என்றும் பிபிசியிடம் கேலம் மெக்கரே தெரிவித்தார். http://news.lankasri.com/show-RUmryCSaNXiw2.html Channel-4 replies to report of court of inquiry

The Court of Inquiry investigating into the controversial Channel 4 claims, concluded yesterday that the instances of shelling referred to the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission(LLRC) Report were not caused by the Sri Lankan Army.

The Court of Inquiry appointed by Sri Lanka Army Commander Lt Gen Jagath Jayasuriya completed its inquiry concerning the first part of their investigation with regard to the allegations of excessive civilian casualties, as a result of alleged heavy shelling. Army spokesman Brigadier Ruwan Wanigasooriya in a press release yesterday said the Court of inquiry report concluded that instances of shelling mentioned in the LLRC report were not caused by the Sri Lanka Army and the civilian casualties might have occurred due to unlawful acts by the LTTE. He said that the President of the Court of Inquiry Major General Chrisantha de Silva handed over the Court of Inquiry (Cof I) Report to the Army Commander at the Army Headquarters yesterday. The Army spokesman said the Court of Inquiry report has upheld that civilian casualties may have resulted, due to unlawful acts by the LTTE. “These acts include targeting civilians fleeing to the safety of Army held areas and likely routes of escape, dropping of artillery rounds fired by ill trained LTTE gunners on to civilian concentrations, employment of sub standard artillery guns and incompatible and substandard artillery rounds obtained from illegal sources by the LTTE, forced conscription of civilians including children and old people for LTTE combat purposes thus exposing them to danger’, he said.
