Govt objects to Navi pillay’s report on Sri Lanka!!

The government of Sri Lanka has expressed its objections to the draft report prepared by UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay on Sri Lanka to be submitted at the 22nd session of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC). Government sources said the draft report prepared by Pillay, which was submitted to the government, has been seen as biased and unfair since it is one-sided.

"It is a one sided and biased report like the Darusman Report," the source said, adding that some of the concerns raised in the report are issues that have already been addressed by the government. The government has expressed its objections to the Sri Lanka's Permanent Mission in Geneva to be conveyed to the UNHRC. The report focuses on the engagement of UN mechanisms in support of the accountability and reconciliation processes in Sri Lanka.
